Princeton Pro Musica** Presents: 
A Handel Celebration:  Israel in Egypt and Concerto Grosso in G Major

Richardson Auditorium, Princeton University, Princeton, NJ, 3PM

The PPM Chorus and Orchestra close the season in grand Baroque style with a performance of Handel’s colossal oratorio “Israel in Egypt” (1736), with double chorus, period-instrument orchestra and soloists. “Israel in Egypt” has endeared itself to skilled choirs with its use of vivid tone-painting and dynamic rhythms to evoke the plagues and other details, from jumping frogs to whirring flies, pounding hail and swelling waves. Rounding out the program is Handel’s Concerto Grosso in G Major for orchestra and instrumental soloists.  Tickets at $25, $42 and $55.  Group discount of 20% for 10 or more.

The Princeton Recorder Society's December Meeting will be on Tuesday, December 13th at the Kingston Presbyterian Church, 4565 Route 27 in Kingston New Jersey. All recorder players welcome. The guest conductor will be Joan Kimball, co-director of the Renaissance wind ensemble Piffaro.

Handel's Messiah Sing Along: First Part and the Hallelujah Chorus, Friday, December 16 at 7PM. 800 Ocean Avenue, Long Branch, NJ 07740.  Free, with free-will offering collected.

Join Aura Polyphonica** on Friday, December 16 at 8 PM for a joyful concert of Renaissance Christmas music. Works of Renaissance masters Tomás Luis de Victoria, Ave Maria Giovanni Gabrieli,  Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina, Samuel Scheidt, Hieronymus Praetorius, Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck and Michael Praetorius.  Aura Polyphonica is a top-level 20-voice chamber choir directed by Timothy Smith.

The Highland Park Community Chorus is celebrating their 30 anniversary with Henry Purcell's Come Ye Sons of Art and Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria on Saturday, December 17 at 8PM, on period instruments. Benjamin T. Berman, harpsichordist & director. Also, a world premiere by New Jersey composer Martin Sedek.
