On Sunday. March 23, 2014 at 3: PM, VOICES presents Handel’s Samson.

Witness the war between the Philistines and the Israelites, Dalila’s deception, Samson’s struggle to accept his weakness, and the strength of a father’s love. Composed in 1741, just after Messiah, this work is full of outstanding instrumental writing, exciting choruses, and moving arias, on period instruments:  baroque strings, baroque oboes, natural trumpets, harpsichord, & theorbo.

See a demonstration of the instruments at 2:30 pm, before the concert.

Riverview Early Music presents: The BEDLAM LUTE SONG WORKSHOP. Join BEDLAM's Renaissance lute-song specialist Kayleen Sanchez, soprano, and lutenist Laudon Schuett for a three-day program of presentations and concerts, at the 1867 Sanctuary in Ewing, New Jersey. 

Workshop schedule:* 
Fri. Nov. 3 - 6:00-7:00 PM:    Session on Original Pronunciation.
Sat. Nov. 4 - 11:00 AM-12:00 Noon:    Session on Musical Rhetoric. 
Sat. Nov. 4 - 2:00- 3:00 PM:    Participant Master Class. 
Sun. Nov. 5 - 3:00 PM:    Participant Concert. A performance by workshop participants.

The public is invited to attend any or all of the sessions and workshop participant concert for one low fee of $10.00 (does not include admission to the Faculty Concert on Saturday, November 4, 7 PM).
